Grand Opening of the First China Commodity Fair Australia in Sydney!

The First China Commodity Fair Australia will open its doors at International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) from September 26th to 28th, 2024. With 380 Chinese enterprises participating in the exhibition, covering an area of 10,000 square meters, it is the largest specialized consumer goods exhibition in Australia with the most Chinese participants. The exhibition not only opens up new opportunities for Chinese foreign trade enterprises in the emerging markets of the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership), but also provides Australian consumers with a wider range of high-quality and cost-effective product options.

Quality suppliers from different regions of China such as Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Shandong, Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Xizang and so on will showcase their high-quality Chinese products across five product categories: houseware, home appliance & consumer electronics, garden, sport & outdoor products, gift & stationery, and baby & kids products. Notably, industrial clusters such as Zhejiang Pinghu for suitcase, Jiangsu Yixing for purple clay and Hunan Liling for ceramics are prominently displayed, leveraging their complete supply chain advantages to offer premium choices and experiences. Smart and eco-friendly products emerge as a significant highlight of the exhibition, with Chinese “Intelligent” manufacturing like smart home appliances, smart suitcases, interactive whiteboards, biodegradable shopping bags and eco-friendly fabric toys, empowering Australians to share in the wisdom and green lifestyle.

Concurrently with the exhibition, Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai and Shanghai “Belt and Road” Comprehensive Service Center will jointly host the ” Yangtze River Delta Australia Economic, Trade and Investment Seminar ” where Chinese and Australian guests will discuss and share experiences and prospects for Chinese enterprises investing in Australia. The exhibition has also received a warm welcome from the local Chinese community in Australia. On the second day of the exhibition, the ” China-Australia Trade and Commodity Summit,” organized by Australian Dongbei Chinese Chamber of Commerce Inc and Australia Fujian Entrepreneurs Association Inc, will focus on Chinese-Australian economic and trade cooperation in the consumer goods industry, bringing together Chinese exhibitor representatives and Australian Chinese entrepreneur representatives to jointly explore new opportunities for cooperation. Moreover, a cultural interaction experience zone has been specially set up at the exhibition, featuring tea art demonstrations, Hanfu try-ons, traditional games, and other activities, allowing Australian visitors to appreciate the profound heritage and unique charm of Chinese culture.

China is Australia’s largest trading partner, export market, and source of imports, accounting for approximately one-third of Australia’s total exports and one-quarter of its total imports. Bilateral trade between China and Australia has grown significantly over the past few decades, with total import and export volume reaching US$229.2 billion in 2023, demonstrating the robust momentum of economic cooperation between the two countries. The official entry into force of the RCEP has further broadened market access opportunities for enterprises from both countries. In the previous fiscal year, products from China accounted for 30% of all goods sold in New South Wales, with high-quality and affordable Chinese products not only enhancing the living standards of Australian families but also bringing tangible economic benefits.

The China Commodity Fair Australia is organized by Trade Development Bureau of Ministry of Commerce, PRC, co-organised by Zhejiang Broad International Convention & Exhibition Co., Ltd, Jiangsu Trade Promotion International Conference & Exhibition Co., Ltd, Shanghai International Exhibition (Group) Co., Ltd and Shandong Better Exhibition Engineering Co., Ltd., and strategically supported by Messe Frankfurt – the world’s leading trade fair organizer.
